How A Tattoo Appointment Goes

It’s an exciting day, the day you get your tattoo. You may be nervous about how everything will go and this article is aimed at helping you understand what happens from when you walk in the door to when you walk out the door with a fresh tattoo.

So after choosing a design you want tattooed it’s time to pay a visit to your friendly neighborhood tattoo shop. Upon walking in you will be visited by either your artist of choice or whichever artist can take you if you are a walk in. They will begin going over your tattoo idea with you and give you a professional opinion on what will and won’t work before all the details get finalized.

After finalizing the design you will be asked to sign a waiver while the artist sets up the tattooing station. After the waiver is signed and the artist is set up it is time to start the tattoo process.

Most tattoos follow a 3 section process. The first step is outline which is the foundation for the whole tattoo and holds the tattoo together over time. The second section is the shading orfa tattoo. This section gives depth to the tattoo and really brings the tattoo closer to life. The final section in a tattoo is color. Although not all tattoos will have color many of them definitely will. After color is added then the tattoo is finished.

Upon finishing the tattoo the artist will clean you off and bandage the tattoo for the ride home. This is when the artist will go over aftercare with you to give you a good chance of healing your tattoo to perfection.

The final step is payment and any final words from the artist about extra steps to take for the tattoo.

Hopefully this article has been informative and a little demystifying about the tattoo experience and procedure.
